Repeated measures studies, like interrupted time series studies, use measures of health conditions at multiple time points before and after a treatment (the ”interruption”).
In repeated measures studies the outcomes are measured in the same individuals at each time point.
The study design attempts to detect whether the treatment has had an effect greater than any underlying trend over time and has similar advantages and disadvantages to interrupted time series analyses.
